There is some funny business going on in Brazil! Two indigenous leaders were killed in a drive by shooting right after a meeting with Brazil’s electric utilities company Eletronorte and the Brazilian National Indigenous Foundation. O thers were wounded in Brazil’s Maranhão state, in an attack not far from where a prominent tribesman who defended the Amazon rain forest was killed last month. Members of the Guajajara tribe are known as the forest guardians who protect their territory against illegal deforestation. The attack occurred on the margins of a federal highway near El-Betel village in the country’s north-east side. The group was returning from a meeting when they were attacked by gunmen in a moving car.
